The market for prefabricated spaces has become a little more crowded recently, but we’ve been around since before the backyard office craze. We have proven experience creating high-quality modular spaces, that are always on time and on budget.

Our story
aux box was born in 2018 when two builders noticed an opportunity to create auxiliary spaces that could be added to a residential setting without the need for a permit. We’ve since grown into a thriving and diversely skilled team that’s committed to disrupting the modular home industry by providing an assortment of beautiful, prefabricated spaces that have been installed in a variety of settings—from laneway spaces in metropolitan cities, to the remote corners of the North American wilderness.
Our process
Whether you choose the 97 square foot auxffice or the new 240 square foot living space, your aux box is prepared off-site in a controlled environment and delivered to you, sparing you the inconvenience and mess of traditional on-site building processes. Best of all, it’s installed in just one day with minimal impact to the environment or landscape. Our proprietary foundation system allows us to provide everything you need at once, so you can enjoy your unit later that same day.
Our founders
Morgan Seeber
From one coast to the other, Morgan was born and raised on beautiful PEI but now calls Vancouver Island home. Curious and thoughtful by nature, Morgan resists the road most traveled in favour of elevating beyond the status quo. Morgan lives for the details and his passion lies in creating spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful.
Landon Sheck
Landon has called Vancouver Island home for his whole life and has built many relationships in the construction industry throughout the mid-island. His desire for perfection in his work has awarded him extremely high-level projects. His talent for viewing the scene from 10,000 ft means Landon is responsible for identifying our business destination and ensuring the team is rowing in the right direction.

Less and better
Our ethos of less and better drives every decision we make, but particularly influences our approach to the creation of our models. We’ve eliminated all visual clutter so your eyes (and mind) can rest easy inside our tranquil spaces. Every transition is perfectly executed so you won’t even realize the usual elements are missing. From seamless surfaces to the absence of trim and roof overhang to hidden electrical boxes and downspouts, you can find out more about the thoughtful and intentional omissions to our spaces here.
Non-disruptive foundation
We’ve developed a proprietary system that is shipped with your aux box which allows the unit to be levelled like a piece of furniture or kitchen cabinet. The foundation points are non-disruptive and most importantly moveable, so you can change your location without permanently altering the landscape. Positively disrupting an industry
Prefab housing has a long history of poor quality and a negative stigma that has plagued the industry since its mid-century inception. We are changing that. By approaching construction to fully optimize the benefits of factory-built structures instead of being bound by the conventional (and limiting) methods that were developed for on-site building, we have created freedom to innovate while maintaining the highest level of quality control. Construction and renovation projects are notorious for going over budget and becoming delayed. We pride ourselves on our efficient timelines, and a price point that doesn’t change. Our pricing includes the ability to customise your space in ways that enhance your lifestyle and aesthetic, without breaking the bank. We never go over budget.
